The excitement has still not worn off after yesterday’s concert that inaugurated the already well-known cycle “Good evening jazz”, taking place in the theatre season regularly, once a month on the Nova Scena. Musicians presented the material from their latest album “History of tomorrow”. From now on, the history of tomorrow stands out in purely jazz colors.
Yesterday’s evening was inaugurated and led by Mariusz Owczarek – a famous radio journalist, consummate connoisseur and author of many musical broadcasts aired on the Third Program of the Polish Radio. No one could put the spectators in a jazz mood better than him. Together with Krzysztof Urbański, who eagerly conversed with the public, they constituted a perfect duo. The musician announced individual pieces, told stories of how they came into being, and explained the meaning and complexities of the title “History of tomorrow”. Moreover, the musician pointed out his willingness to speak Polish, especially given the fact that, on a daily basis, he lives in Great Britain and rarely comes in touch with his native tongue.
Krzysztof Urbański was accompanied by friends and musicians: Sam Gardner – drums, Sam Vicary – double bass, Ashley Henry – piano and Artur Lesicki – guitars.
